A - Health Information:
All feline spa visitors must be current on their Rabies vaccine unless they are still too young to be vaccinated or a written veterinarian’s medical exemption is provided. If you have an exemption, please bring a hard copy of the exemption to keep on file. Some of our groomers may be unable to service cats who are FIV/FeLV+. Please inquire. All groomers will be unable to service cats with contagious autoimmune diseases who are currently experiencing respiratory distress or symptoms of those diseases. Owners must disclose if their cats have recently been housed at a boarding, grooming, veterinary hospital, or other animal facility where they were exposed to contagious or zoonotic illnesses.
B - Aggressive, Dangerous or Hard-to-Handle:
Owner must inform The Kitty Bodega, LLC if your cat(s) bite, have bitten, or are aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. We reserve the right to use an Air muzzle when we deem necessary. Muzzling will not harm your cat and protects both your cat and the groomer. The Kitty Bodega, LLC reserves the right to discontinue services for aggressive or dangerous cat(s) at any time before or during the grooming process due to the cat becoming a danger to themselves or the groomer. In these rare circumstances, service charges will still apply, in addition to a handling fee, due at the time of pickup, whether or not services were rendered. Rescheduling may be allowed on a case-by-case basis upon request. Cats that are deemed extremely aggressive or anxious may be referred to a veterinarian to be groomed under their supervision with sedation if necessary. If the cat should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income, and equipment damage. Handling and aggressive cat fees are listed and should be reviewed prior to making an appointment.
C - Health, Medical Problems & Senior Pets:
The Kitty Bodega, LLC has been trained to work with senior cats with health issues. However, certain severe health conditions may require written medical approval from your veterinarian before services can be rendered. Please disclose any known health conditions such as asthma, heart murmurs, seizures, HCM, or hyperthyroidism during booking. Conditions such as hyperthyroidism, depending on the age and health of the cat, may not be able to be groomed without veterinarian supervision and may need to be groomed at the vet. The Kitty Bodega, LLC is not responsible for health issues discovered during the grooming process such as ear infections, lumps, warts, hot spots, skin infections, scarring, or dental health.
We do not offer anal gland expression as this procedure should be done under the supervision of a veterinarian. In some instances, a cat’s skin can be sensitive to very short trims and may lick areas where they are not normally shaved short. If this occurs, please inform us so we can make adjustments for future grooms as long as the pet is not significantly matted in those areas.
D - Mat Removal and Shaving:
Mats left in a pet’s coat only grow tighter and can strangle the skin resulting in skin infections, cut off circulation, potentially cause life-threatening injury, dead tissue, or loss of limbs. Constant reoccurring matting in the same areas is heavily damaging to the coat and makes those areas prone to re-matting. The Kitty Bodega, LLC does not wish to cause serious or undue stress and will not continually de-mat a pet. Prevention is the best defense against matting by scheduling routine grooming appointments every six weeks and maintaining daily brushing at home. Shaving some breeds can result in improper, uneven, or lack of hair regrowth. If slow or improper regrowth occurs, a re-shave to reset the growth cycle may be necessary. Continued issues may require a veterinary consultation as this can indicate underlying illnesses such as autoimmune disorders. De-matting fees are listed and should be reviewed before making an appointment.
E - Parasites:
The Kitty Bodega, LLC works hard to ensure groomers and equipment remain flea and parasite free. If you suspect your cat has fleas or ticks, please notify us prior to booking as some groomers may not be able to work on cats with fleas. If a severe infestation is discovered at the appointment, we reserve the right to decline services and charge the full cost of services even if not rendered, as the groomer will need to cancel appointments following yours and sanitize all equipment and clothing. Some parasites pose health risks to both pets and humans.
F - No-shows, Cancellations & Late Fees:
A reminder text or call will be sent 24 hours in advance of your appointment. No-shows, last minute cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, or continual rescheduling are subject to 50% of the total grooming cost due to loss of revenue. Emergency situations are understood, but please be respectful of our time as we are by appointment only.
G - Severability Clause:
Should one or more provisions of this policy be or become invalid, unenforceable, or illegal, this shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.
H - Right to Refuse Service:
The Kitty Bodega, LLC reserves the right to refuse, stop, or discontinue services to anyone for any reason.
I - Photo Authorization:
I authorize The Kitty Bodega, LLC permission to photograph my pet for marketing, social media use, and documentation of any health concerns.
J - Pet Safety:
The Kitty Bodega, LLC will always put your pet’s health and safety first and use best judgment in doing so.
K - Accidents:
There is always the possibility that an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp and even when used with extreme caution, cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicked nails may occur. The groomer will notify you if this happens.
L - Acknowledgement:
By making an appointment with The Kitty Bodega, LLC, you are consenting to these grooming policies whether or not an acknowledgement is executed. Consent is implied as these policies are publicly posted.
M - Non-Refundable Deposit:
By making an appointment with The Kitty Bodega, LLC, you agree to a $50 non-refundable deposit to be applied toward the final services bill or toward cancellation charges if you no-show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice.
