Regular 6-8 week schedule will help to control excessive shedding, dandruff, hairballs, ingrown nails, waxy ears, messy bottom. During the bath we will remove dirt and grime from your cat’s coat so you can have well-groomed and luxurious looking cat with less cat hair flying in your house!

The CEO is for matt-free and pelt-free cats only. Removing matts and pelts will incur additional fees due to the risky nature of the groom and due to the additional time needed to be completed safely.
INCLUDES

• shave down lion or modified lion cut
• two degreasing warm baths
• combination towel and blow dry

• comb-out of remaining fur

A lion cut is not a skin-close shave, but rather a very close to the skin clipper cut that leaves a couple millimeters (or 1/16 of an inch) of fur on your cats torso. As long as the cat is not in need of matt or pelt removal, we will leave the main either pointed or rounded, the tail will remain full or with a pom pom puff at the end of tail, and “boots” on all four legs.
The Lion cut is very popular for both short and long haired cats. It helps to keep cats cool, reduce shedding, prevent matting, alleviate messy and smelly bottoms, and reduce fur in the house overall.
Please note: If cat is matted / pelted and needs to be shaved to a lion cut, additional matting / pelting charges will apply and are non-negotiable. Additional waivers will need to be signed in these cases. Not all cats are candidates for a lion cut. Each cat will be assessed on a one-by-one basis, prioritizing your cats health and safety above personal preferences.
POSSIBLE ADD ON
• Toe tuft trim
This service is only available to cats that do NOT need pelt removal. Small matts can be removed prior to the trim, but pelts disqualify this service.
INCLUDES
• four paw nail trim
• gentle ear and eye cleaning
• two degreasing warm baths
• complete blow dry
• 3/8″ to 1″ all over hair trim, excluding the tail, main, and lower legs.
• face trim per breed standard
• comb-out of remaining fur
• warming box finish
The Teddy Bear Cut is very popular for both short and long haired cats. It helps to keep cats cool, reduce shedding, prevent matting, alleviate messy and smelly bottoms, and reduce fur in the house overall.
Please note: Not all cats are good candidates for a teddy bear cut. Each cat will be assessed on a one-by-one basis, prioritizing your cats health and safety above personal preferences.
POSSIBLE ADD ONS

The Sphynx are considered hairless, but do have what we would describe as peach fuzz fur. They are known to be exceptionally greasy as they do not have coat to absorb natural oils produced by their skin. They require regular baths with gentle body and nail degreasing to keep their skin healthy and clean.
While nail caps are a common optional add-on for other cats, we typically do not recommend them for the Sphynx breed because of how hard it is already to keep their feet clean and grease-free.

• pre-bath application of degreasing lotion for stud tail

Did you know that the Siberian cat is the only triple-coated cat breed recognized by the Cat Fanciers Association? Their coats include a dense layer of Guard Hairs (outer, longer hairs that repel water and snow), Awn Hairs (shorter middle coat for insulation and protection), and Down Hairs (short undercoat for insulation). That means that under that armour of plush coat, there is usually a cat with a rather small frame.

• sanitary trim
• four paw nail trim

• 2 degreasing warm baths
• pre-drier coat treatment to prevent tangles and provide heat protection

Did you know that the Maine Coon can grow up to 25lbs and that it takes 3-5 years for them to reach their full size? While it is not acceptable for show cats of this breed to get their toe tufts trimmed, we do recommend it as an add on for house cats since it prevents slipping and sliding that can lead to injury during playtime.
This breed is also known for it’s predisposition to Hypertrophic Caridiomyopathy (HCM) which means your cat groomer will be on the lookout for signs of stress ** during the groom and may reserve or change some aspects of the groom if your cat seems too stressed to deal with it.
INCLUDES
• four paw nail trim
• pre-bath comb-out to remove as much undercoat as possible prior to bathing
• 2 degreasing warm baths
• pre-drier coat treatment to prevent tangles and provide heat protection
• complete blow dry
• ear and eye cleaning
• warm box break to prep skin for de-shedding
• triple de-shedding treatment
• full comb-out
Did you know that the British Shorthair has more hairs per square inch than any other cat breed? This makes their coat dense and lush, almost like a teddy bear, which demands regular in-home combing in-between grooms to prevent their coat from becoming impacted.
All of our cat groomers are trained by one of our Master Cat Groomers, all of whom have completed National Cat Groomers Institute training and some of whom are working toward their certification.
Master Groomers oversee work, provide assists during challenging grooms, and handle customer intake to ensure we have the skills necessary to meet your cats specific needs.
Angie, one of our Master Groomers, also incorporates lessons her own cats have taught her on things like preferred water temperature to preferred scents to make the grooming process more comfortable and appealing to a cat.

Take your cat here, get them groomed. I spoke to my vet about my cat's anxiety, thinking that he would be prescribed some gabapentin. He was, but in addition, the vet suggested that he would benefit from a bath and a shave, as he had some matts that he would not let us brush. I wasn't very hopeful that the groom would do much, but the cat that I took home was a completely different ...

Top Notch Cat Grooming Salon! Yes, cats do benefit from professional grooming. For 11 years, I’ve brushed my kitty regularly and thought he took care of the rest. While shopping at The Kitty Bodega, I saw their cute grooming salon and asked about why a cat would need to be groomed. I scheduled an appointment to find out and wow. Just WOW! We chose the “Employee of the Month” package...
Kitty Bodega is the BEST store for all cat enthusiasts and even first-time cat parents!! I was a nervous wreck trying to find a cat specific groomer for my extra fluffy rescue cat, Guppy. He was almost 10 months before seeing a groomer, since I had read so many grooming horror stories for cats! I was beyond stoked and relieved when Kitty Bodega shared their Cat Grooming Salon had opened! ❤️ ...
De-Matting fees will apply to any cats that come in with matts that are larger than a nickel. Fees start at $10 and multiply depending on severity and quantity.
De-Pelting feeds will apply to any cats that come in with severe pelting. Pelts can only be removed with shaving, but safely shaving off pelts takes special training, extra time, and is unusually painful for the cat which can bring about a whole array of unusual behaviors that make the cat harder to handle than usual. This extra handling may require extra hands AND extra time.
Fleas, ear mites, or other invasive pests will incur fees ranging from $20 and up, depending on the severity of the infestation. Some cats may be turned away before grooming if the infestation too bad.
Aggressive Cat fees or Bite fees start at $50 and go up from there depending on the severity of the damage done. Cats that present with these behaviors, if uncontrollable, are often a danger to themselves as well as their grooming staff. In these rare cases, if it is determined that the groom should be stopped for the safety of all involved, regardless of whether or not services were completed, your full balance will still be due. There are no refunds for grooms that are not completed due to a cat becoming overly aggressive and/or causing serious injury to staff members.
Impacted Coats may be assessed a fee of $20 or more, depending on the severity of dead coat that needs to be removed. Did you know that impacted coats can take up to 4 times longer to get dry than regular non-impacted coats?
Overweight Cat fees apply to cats over 18lbs because of the additional time it takes to groom them both due to sheer square inches of fur that need to be dealt with, and due to the fact that overweight cats often have known or even unknown health problems that take special training to watch out for. Cats that are severely overweight are at greater risk of a stress-related stroke and cats that start to show signs of severe stress during grooming, may be paused or stopped entirely, for the safety of the cat. Our groomers will be able to advise on whether immediate veterinary attention is needed, or whether a “very soon” veterinary checkups would suffice in these cases.
Every standard package follows a strict, effective procedure designed for feline hygiene and comfort. We strip away the unnecessary and focus on the essential.

Removal of oils and debris. Essential for coat health.

Aerating the coat and preventing tangles.

Nail trim, eyes, ears, and nose cleaning.
Cats lick themselves, mainly to help manage top coat cleanliness and some shedding, but they certainly don’t groom themselves. There’s plenty a cat doesn’t get done on their own:
• Cat Nail Care: Cats cannot trim their own nails. When they scratch it’s to help shed nails, not trim or sharpen them. Left untrimmed, nails will grow so long they curl around and poke into their paw pads, creating a painful, expensive, medical emergency.
• Cats with Mats: Regular professional grooming will help to prevent mats from growing, but once they are there, a cat cannot safely remove them on their own. A professional cat groomer can humanely remove mats and tangles for a healthy, comfortable coat.
• Cat Ear Wax: Cats cannot clean the wax and debris from their ears on their own. Professional cat grooming services can ensure your cats ears are clean without risking damage to their internal ears. This is an especially tough job for hairless cats.
• Eliminating Unpleasant Residues: Cats can’t effectively clean gunked-up poop under their tails. Professional groomers ensure this is taken care of, resulting in a cleaner, more hygienic cat.
• Cat Dandruff: When you see dandruff on your cats back, it’s not flaky dry skin causing it: what you’re seeing are flakes of oil/grease that has collected over the years. Just like what happens to humans when they don’t wash their hair for an extended period of time! This is a clear sign that your cats skin and coat need some TLC!
• Cat Hair Everywhere: Cats shed significantly, especially short-haired breeds. Short fur has a shorter growing cycle so by the time your long hair cat grows one strand of fur, your short hair baby has grown 3 or 4! Regular professional grooming, including bath and blow-dry, drastically reduce shedding.
• Cat Hairballs: When cats lick themselves, they are inevitably ingesting large amoutns of their own fur, which can lead to hairballs and digestion issues. Compacted hairballs can become an expensive medical emergency too! Regular cat bathing and drying can help reduce this problem and potentially save on high vet bills.
• Reducing Allergies: Regular cat baths can reduce allergens and help individuals with allergies, making it more comfortable to interact with your cat.
• Early Detection of Health Issues: Professionally trained cat groomers are often the first to notice skin and/or other health issues during the groom. We handle cats very closely, and our trained eyes can spot potential problems early, well before your annual vet visit.
Most cats benefit from professional grooming services every 6-8 weeks, while some can comfortably go up to 12 weeks between grooming sessions. The frequency depends on various factors related to your feline friend:
• Your Cat’s Age: Younger cats and kittens may require less frequent grooming compared to older cats, depending on how well they handle their litter box duties and of course their digestive health.
• Health: Cats with certain health issues might benefit from more frequent grooming, while cats with more severe health issues may not be great candidates for regular grooming procedures.
• Coat Color: Certain coat colors, such as dilute coats, get visibly dirty more easily and tangle more readily due to their cottony nature. Coats like this can demand more frequent grooming.
• Length and Other Factors: Factors such as your cat’s breed, lifestyle, level of activity, and exposure to water or the outdoors can also impact the frequency of cat grooming.
The Bathaus is a professional cat grooming salon where we tailor our services to meet your cat’s specific needs. Once we assess your cat, we can advise on the optimal frequency of grooming sessions to keep them looking and feeling their best.
No. Cats that need sedation for grooming can only be handled by the medically trained staff of your veterinarians office, as sedation is risky and vitals would need to be monitored during the groom.
No. Physical restraints commonly used by dog groomers are in-fact lethal for cats. We do not use physical restraints of any kind. Techniques we use include below the neck “burrito wraps”, or towel wrapping, e-collars if a cat presents with biting, and in-place scruffing (not lifting the cat by the scruff) if a cat responds positively to it and needs it to stay still, often effective with kittens.
Generally, a cat’s fur will start to grow back within 2-3 months. However, full regrowth can take up to 18 months, depending on several factors (some are mentioned below):
• Type of Hair: The type of fur your cat has plays a significant role in determining how quickly it grows back. Certain breeds’ hair grows faster than others due to genetic differences.
• Hair Growth Stage: The stage of hair growth at which your cat was shaved can impact the regrowth rate. Hair growth in cats occurs in cycles, and if the hair was in a resting stage when shaved, it might take longer to begin growing again.
• Season: Cats naturally shed and grow their coats in response to changes in daylight, meaning the time of year when your cat is shaved can affect how quickly its fur regrows.
• Health Issues: Underlying health issues can slow down the hair regrowth process. For example, certain skin conditions or systemic diseases can affect the speed and quality of hair regrowth.
It’s important to understand the limitations of dry bathing. Dry shampoo does not effectively clean your cat’s coat. It doesn’t remove dirt, natural oils, dandruff, or fleas. Essentially, it’s a fragranced spray that may make your cat smell nice but does nothing to maintain the health of your cats skin and coat.
Regular grooming appointments mean your cat can get used to the process and even learn to love it. Regular professional grooming can significantly prevent discomfort and health issues associated with neglecting grooming routines. By maintaining a consistent grooming schedule, your cat will stay clean, comfortable, and happy. You’ll also avoid the occurrence of mats or pelts, ensuring a healthier coat and a happier cat.
However, that’s not say that a cat cannot become stressed during a groom. Signs of stress include dilated pupils, panting, or urinating and defecating on themselves in a short period of time. Our groomers are trained to watch for signs of extreme stress and will stop a groom if they believe the cat may be experiencing harmful levels of stress. Cats can have a stroke from stress alone, so if your groomer calls you to inform you they have made a stress-related grooming decision, please be understanding, as your cats health is our number one concern, always!
Cats have naturally very oily skin and hair, which requires regular baths and specialized grooming products to keep clean. As your cat sheds its fur, without proper grooming, this hair can stick together due to the natural oils, forming tangles. These tangles, if unnoticed or not promptly removed, can grow into larger knots known as mats. If these mats are not taken care of, they can spread across the cat’s body, resulting in a condition known as pelting.
Matting and pelting in cats can cause severe discomfort, pain, skin irritation, scaring, infections, and in extreme cases, even death due to circulation loss or sepsis from the inability to defecate if pelted over the anal area.
If a cat develops large mats or a pelt, the only effective way to remove it is to shave the cat’s coat. However, depending on the cat’s health, temperament, age, and other factors, shaving may need to be performed under a vet’s supervision to ensure it’s done safely.
Regular professional grooming appointments are a proactive measure to avoid matting and pelting in your feline friend. Professional grooming significantly reduces shedding and helps keep your cat’s skin and coat clean, healthy, and mat-free.

INCLUDES
• sanitary trim
• four paw nail trim
• pre-bath application of degreasing lotion for stud tail
• 2 degreasing warm baths
• pre-drier coat treatment to prevent tangles and provide heat protection
• complete blow dry
• ear and eye cleaning
• full comb-out
Did you know that the Maine Coon can grow up to 25lbs and that it takes 3-5 years for them to reach their full size?
“Her team of cats even design our inhouse signature scent: Catonic. What Cat’s Want.”

See Potential Service Fees for de-matting and de-pelting fee information.
